I love sports.
Driven to succeed, I’m a motivated team player who is extremely passionate about sports and in particular, volleyball. There’s no better feeling then playing in front of a crowd of cheering spectators.
I currently attend a high performance athlete school in greater Toronto, Canada. Our Director of Student – Athletes has high expectations. It is an inspiring program that motivates me to do my absolute best, both in the classroom and on the court and am honoured to be awarded with such accolades as the ‘Student of the Month’, as well as nominated for ‘Athlete of the Year’ two years in a row. Prior to attending my High Performance school, I was captain of our Junior Highschool Volleyball team, I understand the importance of commitment to both myself and my teammates. Because of my leadership skills and athletic talent, I have always been chosen to play an age group of two up.
Being surrounded with such exceptional athletes gives me motivation to propel myself to their level. My background is that of a long distance runner but discovered the love of beach volleyball because of my parents, both instrumental in the development of our sport in Canada. They were part of the inaugural group that introduced the ‘beach’ to many along the boardwalk of Toronto Beaches and now what is known as the famous Ashbridges Bay.
My goal is to play beach volleyball at an NCAA school in order to continue developing. A member of Team Ontario beach volleyball, I pride myself that coaches trust the fact that I can handle stressful situations; whether the score is 20-0 or 31-32, I perform the way I have been trained: 100% game on.
I had the fastest sprinting time out of my teammates on Team Ontario. My nickname on the court is “Lizard” because of my rapid response to getting the ball.
Coaching young children on how to play volleyball this year has helped me develop my leadership and volleyball skills even more. My other interests are photography and training in the gym. I love working out as it makes me feel good about myself and pushes me to work towards a strong, athletic body like my role model, Laura Ludwig.
My goal is to study Kinesiology in order to further learn about the human body and sport performance, I feel an NCAA school is the perfect fit for me to continue academics and focusing on my sport. Playing for a great program will one day support my goal of representing Canada on the International stage.
I look forward to visiting schools in the near future that have a strong academic field of study, strong sense of community and a support and love of sport.
